ReplyDeleteI would just like to counter the claim, above, that I am 'right'; the whole point of my campaign is to emphasise that a prospective General Secretary should be politically neutral, without explicit political associations, whcih some of the other candidates, unfortunately, have; I believe this is encompassed by the very nature of the word 'general', and is an imperative in a University with probably the world's most diverse student body.

ReplyDeleteAled Fisher's heart-warming letter to his supporters touched all who read it, and marked his card as the next Nelson Mandela. The sentence, "I have discovered that real politics happens at grassroots level by people organising themselves for change" is, however, remarkably similar to something a certain Barack Obama said after two minutes of the following video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H5h95s0OuEg. Outsourcing your rhetoric is outsourcing gone too far.
